Wrapping Up Here at the Royal Gorge CG - 13 days and counting

As full timers, we have learn to be patience. And the pass week was no difference, as road construction was on the highway. So, you can see by the photos what some of our time went to:

During our time at the CG, we came across this object paying next to a electrical box:

On the back was the words, if you find this you can keep or re-hide. All they asked is you post on Facebook under "    ".

One of the places we found was a drum factory and store:

The drum on it side was made for Mick Fleetwood for concerts, however he has never picked it up. So it remains at the store.

I thought this photo was neat at the clouds show a mountain.

We also made the journey to Los Alamos for the day. Needless to say, many people have been there, so there was no need to capture photos. But i will say, we found a Paw Friendly Pub, where we enjoyed chicken tacos and a beer on the patio.

The final trip was the enchanted circle. One place we stopped allowed a short hike in the Carson National Forest.

One of the last stops of the day was the town of Eagle Nest: Susan and I both agreed, this would make a great place for a fall rally. Prices were great, fishing awesome, hiking in the NF and just plane quiet place for a few people. Best route in, would be from Raton, NM.

Eagle Nest

This week, PBS has been showing a 10 part series on Vietnam. I have seen most every show on Vietnam, and try to understand the WHY?

The 2 photos came for the Vietnam Memorial located in Angel Fire:

The last photo I cannot really describe. Put if you click on the photo, notice the bracelets on the top shelf, left side. Total number is 7, these are the MIA's that have been returned, compared to the ones still missing that were from the area.

Las Vegas New Mexico–25 days to AIBF

We landed at the Elks lodge, spent 2 nights, with full hookups, which all we used was electric. Spent time inside visiting elks, and having good conversation on the future of the Elks.

On Sunday, we spent some of the day, walking around downtown. The early morning is the best to get photos of the area with few people. We found a good coffee shop, just been open over 4 months. Took some good shops of the building and the sculpture in the plaza.

We then went to old town, and repeated the same. Including seeing the train station. Where twice a day a Amtrak stops by to pickup passengers.

As we walked around town, I was able to capture some unique shots:

We definitely will come back, as there are many places we have missed.

4_27_On the Road to Elks Lodge in Perry Florida

Ok, so we left the Elk’s Lodge in Ft Walton Beach early, 7:30 ish. Heading east on Hwy 98 to Perry FL. Why Hwy 98? Because it is off the beaten path, slow, well not as slow and easy until you get past Panama City, then it becomes a real easy 2 lane hwy.

We left Ft. Walton Beach (NOT DOGGIE FRIENDLY beaches) and the Elk’s mainly due to the road noise (in my mind). Hwy 98 in Ft Walton is a very busy Hwy and I can not even imagine how much busier it gets later.

So, off we went, in search of a new adventures with DaGirls Rv. What we found was a Doggie friendly beach in a town called Carrabelle Fl. As we were driving thru we spotted doggies on the beach,

Now how to get Della down to the water. Luck was with us as we spotted a drive off to a small park on the water side. That was all we needed for a water break and lunch.

Once we had our fix, we continued on our journey to Perry Fl. Total miles today was about 200, not bad for an easy drive. Along the way, we started thinking about refueling DaGirls, as we were driving we kept seeing prices for 2.20 to 2.39 per gallon. Whoa, what do we see? 2.09 per gallon at a Quick Stop. Quick pull in, trickie but not impossible for DaGirls.

So, when and where did we finally land? Elk’s Lodge in Perry Florida. Great location, easy access, 30/50 amp/water available on site.

And of Course what about a Photo Op

Della always knows what to say.
