Wrapping up Time in Louisiana

We came, we visited, and we left.

Our primary reason, my nephew, John Atwood, passed away on Aug. 21.
How we found out was by FB. One phone call, 900 miles later, we arrived in a private RV park, a few miles from Shelly and Ed's house.

So, it was a time of sorrow, but also a time of happiness:
My Aunt Joy, turned 90 years old on Sunday, Aug 26.

We left Crittenden, Ky., on Thursday, 23. With a overnight spot at the Isle of Capri Casino located off of highway 61, in Mississippi.

Currently we are staying, at the Albritton's. I have known him since 2013, but only by emails and phone calls. Each time we traveled by, we were unable to connect. Well this time, it all worked out.

You know me, I never turn down a chance to learn something new. And Susan has learned how to operate a long arm machine. We truly are blessed, with knowing people like Trish and Dick.

Final Day

Thursday (July 19) was the day that we would travel and continue to travel until we crossed the border into the USA.

Using the Ezborder Link, we took Ca 39 (Moose Jaw), and headed southeast. This lasted about 45 miles, where we turned south onto Ca 35 and headed directly to the Ca/USA border crossing. Not only did we make good time, the road was good and the border crossing easy, as there were no other vehicles in front or in back of us.

We left around, 7:15 MSDT, from Gull Lake, Saskatchewan (Sk).

The time frame for Saskatchewan is a little different, as part of it matches, MDST, but Saskatchewan is in CDST. We awoke early and headed east and continued on the Trans Canada Highway 1. As we continued our traveles, we were amazed at the expanse of the open areas:

As we continued along the Trans Canada Hwy, we spied a unique sight, something I did not think we would see. The photos below are Snow and Ice on a lake, yep and it was only 66 degrees outside:

But we prevailed and continued on.
We arrived in a town called Berthold, ND. About 4:30 pm CDST, 40 miles west of Minot. We are staying at the Berthold RV city park. 30 amps, water and sewer. This is a 1 restaurant and 1 bar & grill town. But it is also a town were you can leave your golf cart outside with your golf clubs and 223 Rifle in the rifle rack:

So, after a brief time, getting setup and settled in, was down time. Along with a small dinner and since we now have good internet without the Verizon slow-down, we can upload photos:

Our final word ......................Diesel at $3.09 per gallon.

Nevada -

Ok, so don’t get usedto the day by day blogs, too many things can get in the way for me to post everything. However, I will make sure to do a wrap up for each week or something special.

So, we left TT Las Vegas, early this morning (4/27), headed out to Pahrump, NV. It all it was about 50 miles, with traffic and a long hill climb.

At least I did score a few photos from TT in LV:

No photos of the travel this time, but hey what can you expect....

The park in Pahrump is an RPI park, so Susan scored us $13.50 a day. Not bad, considering, the sites are huge, compared to LV TT. Easy to park, level enough we did not have issues. Puppy friendly, 4 small dog runs, but puppies are welcome around the park.

I did manage to score a few shots of the Preferred Rv Park.

I also did a walk outside the park, I spied some snow remaining on the peak and a few Rv’s calling the land home, even if they do leave lots of trash around.
