Susan had spotted this somehow and somewhere, she remembered she learned of this through Day's End. We landed at the Douglas Lake Tailwater campground located just down the road from Sevierville, Tn. Just in case you are wondering where:
here is a link to Google Map.
We are on the Tailwater side, which is quieter and nicer then the Headwater CG. By the way, this is run by the Tennessee Valley Association, otherwise know as the TVA. But it is still Federal land so that means our American the Beautiful pass will score a reduced rate. Oh by the way, it is now managed by RRM, a concessionaire firm.

Upon arrival, it was easy and quick. Susan had picked a good site as it required very little to level. Except for the satellite, we managed to get 2 of the 3 signals, so for the most part no HD. So we have Nashville locals in SD, fine for us except I noticed Nashville is in Central Time zone and we are still on Eastern time here in Douglas.
We scored a water site #4, we are facing the water Vs. backing in. Since we have an extension cord we choose facing the water. By the way, it is only 30 amps and water, but we love the site and the people here. Some of whom are just downhome mountain boys.
We also met a couple from Florida that have been coming here for over 17 years or thru 4 RV's. His FMCA number begins with a 2.
Now the dam no longer generates power, although there are 4 turbines. But they do release water during the day and night for down river activities.
I captured a few videos, I will see if I can put them together and show how the water is released and rises. One of the amazing site on the first day, I captured an Eagle flying in and taking away a fish from a Blue Heron.
