We met Janice and Jerry around 2012, in Apache Junction and have stayed in touch over the years, and as luck would have it. We landed in their neck of the neihboorhoor. Jerry had always wanted tto combined his battery banks and hiss seem like the best time. So we arranged a time and go to work.
There Rv is a 2005 Alfa Seeya, which they purchased in 2012.
The first thing I notice was the following:
Freedom 458, new batteries and the very different wiring (Really different) along with the knife switches labeled backwards.
We talked and I asked the question, down and dirty or the clean and easy way. Jerry said clean and easy way.
The biggest item I notice was how the batteries were laid out. If Xantrex is under steps, then the first 3 batteries (Passenger side) and the first battery (next to generator) driver’s are for the inverter. Well in his case that was not to be. His layout was backwards. His inverter batteries were laid out as if the inverter was on the driver’s side. But we go to work.
In the end his setup was quick, easy and we were done in 2 hours. You can see the results in the following photos:
