Welcome to Our Life

For those of you who enjoy the photos, today is a little different.

A little update as to what has been transpiring here at DaGirls Cabin.

First and Foremost, DaGirls Rv, now has a real name. Well Sort of: His name, unless it get's changed is Gus. Why Gus, you ask, well he seems to be a Gus. So that's it. Now on to bigger news.

What there is bigger NEWS? Yes and it is not just the Font Size.

First, the temperatures up here in Show Low, have been in the mid 50's to the mid 80's. Nice enough to run the roof top for 30 minutes, around 5 to 6 pm. Then switch 1 or 2 vent fans to bring the cooler air in, and within 30 minutes, it is very cool inside.

Also today, we are shifting the Rv from the north side (driveway)

to the south side ,of the house in the yard.

We have not really decided where Gus will reside, so we are trying a few different options. Sewer line will be movable until I dig a trench and install. By the way, with all the landscape work being done by Lorraine and Susan, the yard is very cleaned up.

Now some of you are already wondering where do I fit in with my Rv? Well, we will always strive to have at least 1 spot with 50Amps. We do have a sewer line located next to the cabin on the north side, near the driveway.

We do have room for possible 2 Rv's who do not mind Dry-Camping.

Also a big Shout-Out to Mike and Lorraine Lynch, without their help we would not have completed so much of the remodeling.

Day the carpet was being installed

Breakfast is always good

Susan, has worked hard in trying to figure out HOW to get rid of the pilasters'. Each one weights between 700 to 900 lbs. There were 10 of them on the property. Well one day, se put them on Nextdoor, and listed as erosion control. Well, someone saw it and really needed something like this to keep people from encroaching onto his property, and divert water flow.

Dakota says Looks like the shower is ready

Ok, so that it's for this post.

Gathering Moss

 Gathering Moss?

Not us, especially when Mike and Lorrainne Lynch come over. It all started out with, let's have breakfast on Thursday (Aug 12). Little did we realize something was lurking in the back of Mike and Lorrainne minds.

First, breakfast at Persnikkity's Cafe. Oh, Mike was dropping off his Ford at the dealers for a little work. Hey, no big deal, of course we love to have breakfast together.

Then they spring the really big suprised, hey, we're coming over to help you out.

Every time they come over, we get Soooooo Much done. Lorrainne is a power house outside, digging, replanting, moving, you name it and she your Outside lady. Then when she and Susan get together. Walls come down with a Very Loud BANG.

Mike on the other hand, next thing you know, he saying come on dale we can do it, I'll get you the tools you need, while you're in the crawl space under the floor. Next thing you know the Hot/Cold Water lines are disconnected and capped from the bathroom tub. Drain line is disconnected and capped. Mike had cut cover plates, to cover the holes, where drain lines came up.

Next thing you know, Susan and Mike are cutting and tearing out the bathtub from the bathroom. Before long it's 4pm. What happen to the day? Alot, and it is all due to Mike and Lorrainne coming over, rolling up the sleeves and getting dirty.

Photos ? Well as I stated earlier, the coming out of the Cabin photos will be very soon.

Except for this. New Dish satellite antenna installed for up to 3 Dish Customers.

Tankless Natural Gas Water Heater up and running.

Washing Machine installed and tested out.

Dryer moved inside, tomorrow installation will be completed and a test run done.

Well haw about a little taste of the Cabin:

All Work and No Play - You Miss Out on alot of Interesting things

It's been what? Almost 30 days since the last post. Where does time fly.

Well, I could show you photos on the progress of the cabin, but that would spoil the surprise. Instead, I will show you some photos of what we have been doing for Fun and Relaxation.

Once a year, there is a parade, car show and art show in Snowflake/Taylor. It starts with an Art Show on Friday, then on Saturday a Car show along with the parade. Our goal was the car show and plus it was an easy travel day.

One of the big reason for going was our neighbor Allen & Mary. Mary had called and let us know about the show, and normally Allen would attend the car show with one of his cars. You see we learned he is a collector of very old cars, similar to one of a kind.

This is just one of the cars he keeps up in Show Low:

But due to other issues he was unable to make it back to S L.

Susan and I had a wonderful drive and enjoy the sights of the are on that day July 24.

Now fast forward, and yes no photos of the work on the cabin, as this is photos of what we are enjoying.

But first, let me introduce our very close friends, because of them we have been able to accomplish alot and more important. When they drop in all work stops and we all enjoy a wonderful evening.

Lorraine & Mike Lynch

For without them many things would not have been accomplished quickly.

It seems there are still a few Chuck Wagons in working condition on some of the ranches.

We learned of a event call the Chuck Wagon/ Dutch Oven cookout, over in Pinedale. This event is held once a year, and is the big fund raiser for the Pinedale / Clay Spring Volunteer Fire Department. One of the neat things about Pinedale is, it still has the over covered bridge remaining in the state of Arizona:

As this was our first Chuck Wagon event, we learned some very important facts.
1. Get here early and buy your food ticket. The food tickets goes fast.
2. Bring chairs and find/pick your spot
3. Wear LOOSE pants and belt. As they give you ALOT of food.

And finally, Mike and Lorraine are alot like Susan & I. We love to get off the main road and take the beaten path. As we were leaving Mike said which way. Ok, so I said right cause I knew a back road to the main highway.

Our road took us to the Juniper Ridge Rd - Where the Lookout Tower is located. We did not realize what had happen a few weeks ago. You see the Arizona Monsoon season started up. Little did anyone realize how massive they would be.

About 3 weeks ago, the Show Low area was hit with a total rain fall of over 5 inches in a matter of a few hours. Many stores were flooded and a few still remain closed. many streets were closed due to being flooded.

A levee was breeched up in Taylor, along with many homes being flooded out in Miami, Az. due to the Telegraph Fire.

Since then, we have had a steady stream of on/off rain fall until this week. Where we have not had rain for 5 days.

The photos do NOT really give you a perspective of the size of the pile of debris against the trees.

Picture this, if I had stood against one of the piles, Some of those piles would have been as tall as me. These pile of debris have been piled up since the Wallow and the Rodeo Chediski fire.

A final wave goodbye from everyone as we headed back home.
