Seems a call went out for help a month ago, help was needed at Nathan's and Brook's wedding. With conditions being what they are, we were a little fearful, but with 4 nurses, 3 being in the same family, we knew would be safe, as long as we remain vigilant. Wear masks, wash hands, and sanitize often.
Of course along the way, we capture a few shots:
First crossing over into Iowa.
By crossing the Mississippi River we stopped at the first rest stop. Where we read up on the bridge and Davenport itself.
Our first stop was a town called Mitchellville, Ia. We located a small campground for $16/night.
This is a small local CG, which fills up quickly. They state they do not take reservations, but, as we have found out in many places such as this, there is a way around it. Now you ask, how do they get around this no reservation? Easy, the locals come out, pay in advance for a site, go home work, then come back. See how easy the locals get around this?
Anyway, we found a pull through for 1 night, which is all we needed.
When we left the next day, we had 125 miles to go. We expected to arrive about 1pm. which we did after a grocery stop in Lincoln, Ne.
But we did pull in, setup and relax with friends:
Of course not without a hiccup, at least susan's hiccup:
Once here, we settled down, and started helping with setting up the reception in the Pour House Room.
Our jobs? Serve the food to the guests, easy job, wear masks, gloves, and use sanitizer throughout.
The reception turned out well, food was good and the evening long for most people except for us. We clean up, remove the leftovers and headed home around 8ish. Still day-light.
Sunday we arose late, and took a short drive to Greg's market in Exeter, to return the bread containers. While we were there we drove around and spied this spot:
Well this is all for now, as we relax for a few more days before continuing our journey to Custer, SD.
Remember keep safe, wear a mask, wash hands, sanitize, and be careful where you go.
